Dream team and father-and-son partners, Harry and Neil, swapped their PowerPoint decks and client deadlines for a day of fast-paced fun as they stepped onto the court for an unforgettable charity padel tournament.
Welcome to Padelfest: London’s first ever charity padel tournament, hosted by Mail Metro Media at the vibrant Earls Court Padel Social Club.
On Wednesday, September 10th, JAM traded content production for cross-court smashes, taking part in this exciting edition of a fundraising event that blended sport, networking, and meaningful connections.
With every serve, volley and reply, players worked towards one goal: to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.
A Day of Padel, Purpose, and Collaboration
The glass-walled courts were surrounded by a buzzing bar and lively crowd. Friends, colleagues, and families came to share the excitement, cheer on their favourite participants, and soak up the love..
The event was about more than just competition. It celebrated collaboration, bringing together top creative agencies, publishers, and brands to create lasting impact through sport.
What Makes Padelfest Special
This round-robin style tournament gave everyone the chance to enter, compete, and form new connections, with the final taking place on the venue’s stunning show court.
Padelfest offered:
- Genuine networking opportunities and activities to connect industries.
- A variety of padel tournament matches and formats to keep things exciting.
- A fun way to raise funds while promoting wellbeing.
For agencies, it was a place to share ideas and information, while building partnerships and strengthening ties across the media landscape.
Team JAM Hits the Court
Representing JAM, Neil and Harry Lane brought hustle, humour, and a few questionable trick shots. Plus plenty of moments to laugh.
While they didn’t take home the trophy, they left with something more valuable: a sense of pride in making a difference.
Neil shared:
“It was a brilliant day, a chance to catch up with friends and support a cause that really matters. Plus, padel’s way more forgiving than tennis!”
Harry added:
“Fast-paced, fun, and full of laughs. Knowing every point played was making a difference gave the event extra meaning.”
After a full day of high-energy rallies, we’ll leave these two to rest up before no doubt sending them out again for the next challenge!
Why Charity Padel Tournaments Are Growing
Padel is booming across the UK, and charity tournaments like Padelfest are quickly becoming a staple on the calendar, especially when paired with some friendly competition between agencies. They:
Help raise funds for vital causes.
Encourage collaboration and team building.
Provide friends and colleagues with the chance to share unforgettable experiences.
Give industries meaningful ways to place purpose at the heart of what they do.
With every new edition, events like this mark a growing movement where sport, community, and cause come together.
Final Score: £40,000 Raised
The event concluded with exciting prizes, applause for every player, and one clear winner: the British Heart Foundation, which received £40,000 to support lifesaving research.
While some teams might miss the thrill of victory, everyone walked away knowing they had played their part in something bigger.
Padelfest wasn’t just about who could deliver the best touch shot or who could form the strongest alliance. It was about making memories and sharing moments that matter.
A massive thanks to Mail Metro Media, Dom Williams, Harry Simpson, and everyone who helped announce and organise this incredible tournament.
Until our next date: Game. Set. Jam.
